How to Find the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 Fast in Forza Horizon 6

Forza Horizon 6 has officially dropped, taking us on an incredible ride through the diverse landscapes, sweeping mountain passes, and neon-lit streets of Japan. For many car enthusiasts, one of the absolute first priorities upon hitting the tarmac is hunting down the legendary Barn Finds. Sitting right near the top of everyone’s wishlist this time around is a true touring car icon: the 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500.

If you are looking to add this classic beast to your garage as quickly as possible, you are in luck. Unlike some of the ultra-late-game unlocks, the RS500 is actually an early-game vehicle. However, you can’t just drive straight to the spot and claim it right away—you need to trigger the rumor first.

Here is exactly how to find it fast and get it out on the road.

1. Trigger the Barn Find Rumor

To make the car actually appear in the world, you first need to unlock its specific Barn Find rumor by making a bit of progress in your collection journal.

  • Earn the Stamp: Dive into your “Discover Japan” collection journal and start knocking out a few early activities. You need to obtain either the Green Stamp or the Yellow Stamp to trigger the event.

  • Listen for the Radio Call: Once you hit the required progression, keep an ear out while driving around. You will receive a radio dispatch from either Mei Hasegawa or Yuji Kono. They will chat about an old legend or an abandoned vehicle, which officially places a purple search circle on your world map.

2. Drive to the Hidden Location

Once the purple circle pops up on the border of the Ito region, it is time to go hunting. Pack your bags and head toward the edge of Tokyo City.

  • Target Region: The barn is tucked away on the border of the Ito region, right next to the boundary lines shared with Tokyo City.

  • The Forest Path: Find the main road heading northeast toward a large crossing. As you drive along this stretch, keep your eyes peeled on the left side of the road.

  • The Hidden Turn: Look closely for a small opening and a narrow dirt pathway leading off into the dense forest south of that road.

  • Claim the Container: Turn onto this dirt track and follow it straight into the trees. It will lead you directly to the barn area, where you will find this legendary classic sitting quietly inside an old shipping container.

3. Restore Your New Ride

Finding the car is the hard part, but before you can take it to the Horizon Festival stage, it needs a little love and care from the restoration team.

  • Wait Safely: By default, the Sierra Cosworth goes straight to your garage for a restoration process. This usually takes about 1 to 2 hours of real-time gameplay. You can just go about your business, complete more races, and wait for the notification that the car is ready to roll.

  • The Fast Track Option: If you simply cannot wait and want to modify or drive the vehicle immediately, there is an alternative. You can pay a Credit (CR) fee to instantly bypass the restoration timer and unlock the car on the spot. If you have the spare cash, it is well worth it to get behind the wheel of this rear-wheel-drive monster right away.
